The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) grimly announced the earthquake, which occurred at 4.09 am, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The terror continued as two subsequent tremors of moderate magnitude – 3.1 and 3.4 – shook the region at 4.22 am and 4.25 am, respectively. The second quake struck at a depth of five kilometers, while the third’s epicenter was recorded at 10 kilometers deep.

The haunting scene of Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Hospital, caught on a viral video, depicted attendants rushing patients outside in the midst of the initial earthquake. The hospital was left to deal with 15 people who suffered minor injuries, resulting from the ensuing panic. After receiving first aid, they were thankfully discharged.

In a somber response, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, representing Rajasthan’s Kota-Bundi, tweeted his concerns, “Three quakes reportedly in Jaipur and its vicinity. I hope everyone is safe.”

The state’s Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot’s officer on special duty, Lokesh Sharma, shared a tweet of caution, “Earthquake in Jaipur. Take care, stay safe.”
