He emphasized the significance of the presence of the Tricolor in every participant’s hand and the remarkable enthusiasm exhibited throughout the rally. He stated that this was a long-desired aspiration for the people of Kashmir. The large turnout during the event was, in essence, a direct retort to the claims made in the past that no one in the Valley would embrace the Tricolor once Article 370 was nullified. Manoj Sinha led the Tiranga rally, commencing from the Botanical Garden, with the Chief Secretary AK Mehta by his side, according to a report from the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

During interactions with reporters, the Lieutenant Governor expressed his pride in witnessing not only officials from the administration and police officers but also a significant number of Srinagar residents participating in the rally. In response to inquiries regarding the observed changes, he acknowledged that people have recognized their responsibility to partake in this movement and demonstrate respect towards the Tricolor.

On the occasion, the Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbagh Singh, addressed the significant involvement of local residents in the Tiranga yatra and described it as a welcome development. Responding to questions about the situation in Kashmir, he remarked that overall tranquility prevails across various aspects. However, he acknowledged ongoing efforts to misguide youth through social media. He reassured that the number of terrorists remains minimal. He went on to mention the successful operations conducted along the Line of Control (LoC) this year, resulting in the elimination of a substantial number of infiltrators. He also noted the foiling of numerous infiltration attempts during the year.
