On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the 8th edition of Rozgar Mela, an event aimed at providing job opportunities. During this event, PM Modi personally distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals across various para-military forces. The Rozgar Mela was simultaneously held at 45 locations throughout the country.

In his virtual address to the attendees, PM Modi highlighted the importance of the event and the changes that have been introduced in the recruitment process for paramilitary forces. He emphasized the need to open new avenues for the youth and create streamlined pathways for their entry into these forces. PM Modi also expressed his commitment to reducing the recruitment time, thereby making the process more efficient.

Drawing attention to the potential job prospects for young people, PM Modi mentioned the rapid growth of industries like automobiles and pharmaceuticals, which are expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the future. He went on to assert that he believes India will rank among the world’s top three economies in the current decade, emphasizing his confidence in this projection.

PM Modi underlined the importance of growth in all sectors of the economy for overall prosperity. He highlighted the significance of sectors ranging from food to pharmaceuticals, space to startups, in contributing to the nation’s economic development.

Taking the opportunity to discuss economic reforms, PM Modi referred to the Jan Dhan Yojana, a scheme launched nine years prior on August 28, as a crucial driver of job creation. He urged paramilitary personnel to maintain a commitment to learning and encouraged the new recruits to enroll in skill development courses via a new portal.

PM Modi stressed the importance of physical fitness and well-being among paramilitary forces, advising them to prioritize their health throughout their service. He further elaborated on the government’s support for domestic manufacturing, particularly in the context of laptops and computers, in alignment with the “vocal for local” mantra.

Under the initiative of Mission Recruitment, both the Government of India and various States/UTs have been collaborating to organize Rozgar Melas nationwide. These events have been instrumental in distributing appointment letters to numerous youth on a monthly basis, contributing to employment generation.

The 8th edition of the Rozgar Mela was executed across 45 locations across India. During this event, a total of 51,106 appointment letters were handed out to new appointees. This initiative included locations such as Guwahati, where Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal chaired the event. The recruitment process encompassed various paramilitary forces, including CRPF, BSF, SSB, Assam Rifles, CISF, ITBP, Narcotics Control Bureau, and Delhi Police. The positions offered included roles like Constable (General Duty), Sub-Inspector (GD), and Non-GD Cadre Posts in various organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
