CM KCR declares safeguarding the environment as Telangana’s foremost mission.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao underscored the fundamental significance of forests, the environment, and greenery in society, emphasizing their unimaginable importance. He highlighted the Telangana government’s commitment to environmental balance, noting that they had initiated an action plan shortly after the state’s formation, resulting in substantial progress over the last decade.

In his message commemorating Forest Martyrs’ Day, CM Rao celebrated the success of the state’s flagship program, “Telangana ku Haritaharam,” which has made significant strides in reforestation and increasing green coverage. Hyderabad was also honored with the prestigious “World Green City Award – 2022” by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH/IAHP) for its efforts in enhancing greenery amid urban development.

Despite technological and developmental advancements, CM Chandrashekhar Rao reiterated that environmental conservation remains a primary mission for Telangana. He acknowledged the global challenges posed by climate change due to inadequate environmental protection measures and stressed the shared responsibility of preserving the planet for present and future generations.

The Chief Minister called upon all stakeholders to collaborate in achieving Telangana’s green target of 33%, highlighting the critical role of environmental protection. He commended the Forest department’s remarkable efforts in this regard.

On this occasion, CM Rao paid tribute to the 22 officers and staff of the Forest department who lost their lives while serving the cause of forest protection. He hailed their dedication and sacrifice as a source of inspiration for the entire state and expressed heartfelt condolences to the martyrs who gave their lives for forest preservation.

To honor their memory, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to the slogan “Jungal Bachao – Jungle Badao” (Save the Forests, Expand the Forests), and called upon all people to pledge their support for this noble cause.
