Heavy rainfall has inundated Hyderabad city, causing waterlogged roads and traffic jams.

Hyderabad: Starting from Monday morning, the city has been experiencing overcast weather due to the monsoon. However, on Monday afternoon, Hyderabad witnessed heavy rainfall, leading to waterlogging across various parts of the city. This sudden downpour caused severe traffic disruptions.

Many areas in Hyderabad, including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Panjagutta, Begumpet, Amirpet, SR Nagar, Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur, Khairatabad, Lakdikapul, Mehdipatnam, Kothi, Dilshukhnagar, Begumbazar, Charminar, Ranigunj, Patny, Paradise, Suchitra, Jeedimetla, Chintal, Balanagar, Kukatpally, and other neighborhoods, experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in waterlogged roads and intense traffic jams.

Telangana state as a whole also saw heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, causing concerns and alerts from the weather department.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad’s six zones – Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, Begumpet, Sikindarabad, and Serilingampally – are expected to receive rains or thundershowers with the possibility of thunderstorms until September 28.
