The incident that led to these arrests unfolded when the accused allegedly broke into a jewelry store located in Jangpura, South Delhi, on a Thursday. Their audacious heist resulted in the theft of precious ornaments valued between Rs 20 to 25 crore. The crime took place at Umrao Jewellers in the Bhogal area and transpired over a period from Sunday evening to Thursday morning.

The modus operandi employed by the thieves was intricate and well-planned. They gained access to the strongroom, which was situated on the ground floor of a four-story building adjacent to the store. In their meticulous execution, the culprits disconnected the store’s CCTV cameras, rendering surveillance futile. Subsequently, they employed precision drilling to create an entry point through the wall, ultimately gaining access to the secure locker. Besides the contents of the locker, the thieves also made off with jewelry that was on display within the showroom.
