IRCS plans to establish an orphanage in Hanamkonda.

Dr. Pesaru Vijayachandar Reddy, Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), announced the establishment of an orphanage in Hanamkonda’s Ramnagar locality, aiming to accommodate and nurture 30 orphaned children. Expressing gratitude to the Bogapally Rajeshwar Rao Memorial Trust for financial support, Dr. Reddy highlighted the primary focus on children who lost both parents, aged between 6 to 18 years, with the possibility of welcoming those who lost a single parent if there are vacancies.

BV Papa Rao, a former IAS officer and managing trustee of the memorial trust, has pledged half an acre of land in Ammavaripet near the city, contingent on the orphanage’s success. Dr. Reddy emphasized that the facility, in addition to providing shelter, will offer free education to its residents. The IRCS has secured a modern building for the orphanage home, ensuring a comfortable and nurturing environment for the children.
