BJP shamelessly allied with BRS to defeat Congress in Warangal.

In Warangal, actress-turned-politician Vijayashanti criticized the BJP for forming an alliance with BRS, accusing them of shamelessly joining forces to defeat the Congress. While campaigning for Congress candidate Naini Rajender Reddy in Hanumakonda, she claimed that the BJP’s secretive collaboration with the ‘corrupt’ BRS was an attempt to marginalize the Congress. Vijayashanti expressed confidence that the people were prepared to deliver a resounding rebuke to both the BRS and BJP.

She alleged that BRS leaders were involved with land, sand, and liquor mafias. Reflecting on the 2014 elections, Vijayashanti deemed the loss unfortunate for the Congress, attributing it to misplaced trust in KCR, whom she referred to as a ‘cheat.’ She criticized KCR for failing to fulfill promises related to job creation and unemployment allowances, pointing to the collapse of the Medigadda barrage in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project as evidence of corruption.

Vijayashanti highlighted the Delhi Liquor Scam involving KCR’s daughter, MLC K Kavitha, alleging preferential treatment. Despite acknowledging the boldness and astuteness of the people in Warangal, she questioned the electorate’s decision to elect the BRS twice and expressed confidence that KCR’s luck would run out in the next election.

Enumerating the Congress’s past achievements, she noted stable governance and the implementation of welfare programs like MGNREGS, Indiramma Houses, Arogyasri, and fee reimbursement. Criticizing the local BRS MLA for allegedly engaging in land grabbing without providing double-bedroom houses to the poor, she claimed that the majority of 2BHK beneficiaries across the state were BRS workers.

Vijayashanti detailed the ‘Six Guarantees’ promised by the Congress, including the Mahalakshmi Scheme, Free TSRTC Bus Travel for Women, Subsidized Gas Cylinders, Rythu Bharosa, Paddy Crop Bonus, and Free Electricity. The Congress candidate Naini Rajender Reddy, Warangal Parliament in-charge Ravindra Uttamrao Dalvi, TPCC vice-president B Shobha Rani, and former DCCB chairman Janga Raghava Reddy were present during her address.
