PM Modi states that KCR was attempting to forge a friendship with the BJP in Telangana.

During a rally in Mahabubabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), alleging that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) had been attempting to form an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Modi claimed that KCR, recognizing the BJP’s growing influence, had previously sought to establish friendly ties, recounting a meeting in Delhi where KCR made such a request. Despite KCR’s efforts, Modi asserted that the BJP would not act against the wishes of the people of Telangana.

Highlighting the BJP’s rejection of KCR, Modi stated that the TRS has been dismayed and consistently criticizes him, emphasizing that Modi would never allow TRS anywhere near the BJP. The prime minister reiterated that KCR had expressed a desire to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after the BJP’s success in the Hyderabad municipal polls.

Modi recalled a previous meeting with KCR, post-Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, where KCR sought NDA membership and support. However, Modi refused, stating that he could not be associated with KCR due to his actions. This isn’t the first time Modi has made such claims, as he had previously mentioned KCR’s attempt to forge an alliance during a rally in Nizamabad.

During the Mahabubabad rally, PM Modi further criticized both Congress and KCR, labeling them as ‘equal sinners’ in the destruction of Telangana. He asserted that the people of Telangana should not embrace another problem after ousting one, expressing trust in the BJP. Modi declared that the next Chief Minister of Telangana, as promised by the BJP, would be from the Backward Class (BC) community. Telangana is set to go to polls in a single-phase election on November 30, with vote counting scheduled for December 3.
