KCR slipped and fell in his bathroom at home, leading to a diagnosis of a left hip fracture (Extracapsular Neck of femur fracture) after CT scans at Yashoda Hospital. A multi-disciplinary team, including Orthopaedic, Anaesthesia, General Medicine, and Pain Medicine, is monitoring him. His general condition is stable, and the hospital plans to provide periodic health updates.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern on the X platform, wishing KCR a speedy recovery. PM Modi wrote, “Distressed to know that former Telangana CM Shri KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health.”

KCR, originally from Chintamadaka village in Medak district, began his political journey with the Indian Youth Congress and later joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1983. Despite an initial defeat in 1983, he secured victory in 1985 and maintained a winning streak. KCR gained prominence with the formation of Telangana in 2014 and continued success in the 2014 and 2018 assembly polls. However, in 2023, his party faced a significant setback, winning only 39 seats compared to the 88 seats secured in 2018, with a vote share of 37%.
