The Congress government, as stated during the election campaign, has delivered on its promise, allowing women, girls, and even transgender individuals to travel for free on RTC buses. This initiative, effective immediately, doesn’t require any special identification cards for the first few days. The Chief Minister and other ministers have also utilized these free RTC bus services.

All women, girls, and transgender individuals in Telangana are eligible for this program, and no identification cards are required initially. This initiative extends to inter-state services, reaching the Telangana border, as confirmed by the RTC authorities. The Mahalakshmi program not only facilitates free travel for women on RTC buses but also contributes to the government’s efforts in empowering women across districts, mandals, and rural areas, making it accessible to women from every part of the state.
